If you love the environment and want to do more, there are many ways to help.
If you're an individual who has a project in mind, or a group that needs some additional help and support on a project, or you want to help create something bigger, please reach out to us to discuss.
Several of our past projects have been the result of a resident noticing something that needs attention in a local greenspace, bringing it to our attention, and helping us organize an event to address it while getting the local community members out to help.
In addition, if you want to take on a bigger project (eg. a tree planting event or nature restoration activity) with your local group or neighbours in Burlington, you could consider applying for the City of Burlington's Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund, which is usually open for proposals from October to February. It can cover such things as insurance for your activity, plus supplies, tools, rentals, and contracted services. Your group can match it with donated funds, goods, services, and volunteer time (valued at a certain $ rate/hr). They're always looking for great project ideas that benefit the community!
Feeling a little unsure if you can help organize a project? No problem! Come out to a few of our events to gain some knowledge, contacts, skills, experience, and the confidence to help lead a future project or stewardship initiative!
