The Schoolhouse
Built in 1889, this designated heritage building was once a one-room schoolhouse for the town of Lowville. Learn more about the interesting history of The Lowville School and the Village of Lowville here.
Tying in to its educational roots, the Field and Stream Rescue Team (FSRT) has proudly turned this space into our office and education centre where you can learn about who the FSRT team is, the type of work we accomplish, and the natural environment that surrounds us all.
The Schoolhouse is open during the spring and summer season. Stop by when the "OPEN HOUSE" sign is placed outside, to check out the facility. If you are interested in having a private tour our would like to collaborate on an education workshop, please reach out to us via email at [email protected] and we would be happy to explore further options.

Tree Quest is our new educational adventure game that challenges park users with a smart phone to scan our QR codes located within the Schoolhouse and get you to try to find the trees within Lowville Park! Following the QR code links, you are directed to a secret page on our website where you can view photos learn more about the tree species itself! Embark on your Tree Quest and start to become a master at your tree identification skills! See if you can find them all! QR Codes can be found on a board within the schoolhouse!
